Introduction to fiber lasers 2

Image
A fiber laser is a type of fiber that uses doped with rare earth elements as a laser medium. It activates the fiber to generate and amplify laser light. This laser device has many unique advantages that make it widely popular in the medical and industrial fields. The core part of the fiber laser is an optical fiber doped with rare earth elements (such as ytterbium-doped fiber and erbium-doped fiber). When the pump light source (usually a diode laser) enters the optical fiber through a coupler, the rare earth element is excited and generates laser light through stimulated radiation. The laser light propagates and amplifies in the optical fiber and is finally output through the end of the optical fiber. A dvantages 1. High beam quality: The beam produced by the fiber laser has high beam quality and low beam divergence.   2. High efficiency: The optical-to-electrical conversion efficiency of the fiber laser is very high, usually between 30-50%.   3. Good heat dissipation performa...

MOPA pulsed fiber laser is used to clean copper hair-pins in the new energy field

Image
The electric motor is one of the core parts of new energy vehicles and is constantly developing towards high power density and high motor efficiency. The application of flat enameled wire can significantly increase the effective copper area and reduce copper consumption. The copper wires in the slot are arranged more regularly and the slot full rate is higher, thus improving the efficiency and power density of the drive motor. The trend of automobile intelligence and electrification is obvious. Due to the increase in demand for hair-pin motors , the demand for flat enameled wires has also been further expanded. The copper hair-pin inside the motor must ensure insulation and achieve electrical isolation. It is usually covered with a layer of paint or an organic insulation layer. Before hair-pin welding, the insulation layer in the welding area needs to be effectively removed. Mechanical stripping can damage the wires, and CO2 lasers often cannot completely remove the insulation. Based ...

Application of UV laser on ceramic materials

Image
In modern industry, ceramic materials are widely used in various fields due to their excellent physical and chemical properties. From sophisticated electronic components to demanding industrial equipment, ceramics have become one of the important materials to promote scientific and technological progress with their irreplaceable advantages. However, how to make lasting and clear marks on these materials has always been a difficult problem in industrial processing. With the development of laser technology, laser ceramic blackening technology came into being, providing an efficient and environmentally friendly solution to this problem. Traditional ceramic blackening technology mainly relies on mechanical engraving or chemical etching. These methods not only have problems such as low precision, low efficiency, and easy damage to materials but also have many consumables and great environmental pollution, which are not in line with the concept of modern green manufacturing.   Laser pro...

MOPA pulse laser cleaning, to meet the surface cleaning needs of various materials

Image
The MOPA fiber laser system's resonant cavity is an optical fiber. MO (Master Oscillator) is a low-power laser; generally, a suitable wavelength laser is selected. The low-power laser LD (laser diode) can directly modulate the output parameters by driving the current, and then couple the signal light generated by the LD into the PA (Power Amplifier) power amplifier system through the pigtail to amplify the signal light.   MOPA laser is the most widely used laser cleaning. Since the MOPA fiber laser system can strictly amplify according to the seed signal source coupled into the system, it will not change the relevant characteristics of the laser such as the central wavelength, pulse waveform, and pulse width. Therefore, the parameter adjustment dimension is higher and the range is wider. It is more adaptable to different application scenarios of other materials, and the process window range is larger, which can meet the surface cleaning of various materials.   In addition, ...

Beginner's Guide: How to Use a Small Laser Cleaning Machine

Image
A laser  cleaning machine is an efficient cleaning equipment. Through the action of the laser beam, it can quickly clean various surface dirt. For novices, it is very important to master the correct use method. This article will introduce the use steps and precautions of a small laser cleaning machine in detail to help you get started smoothly. 1. The basic principle of a small laser cleaning machine A laser cleaning machine uses the high energy of a laser beam to remove dirt on the surface of objects. When the laser beam is irradiated to the surface of the object, the high-energy beam of a specific wavelength is absorbed by the rust layer, paint layer, and pollution layer, forming a rapidly expanding plasma and generating shock waves at the same time. The shock waves turn the pollutants into fragments and are removed, thereby achieving the cleaning effect. 2. Precautions for using a small laser cleaning machine Before using a small laser cleaning machine, you must first ensure sa...
