Laser Cleaning: Four Commonly Used Methods
The principle of laser cleaning: is the use of high-frequency high-energy laser pulse irradiation of the surface of the workpiece, the coating layer can be instantly absorbed by the focused laser energy, so that the surface of the oil, rust spots, or coatings occur in an instant evaporation or stripping, high-speed and effective removal of surface adhesion or surface coating cleaning method, and the action time is very short laser pulse, in the appropriate parameters will not harm the metal substrate.
Laser cleaning commonly used 4 methods:
1. laser dry cleaning method, that is, the use of pulsed laser direct radiation to remove dirt
2. laser + liquid film method, that is, first deposited a layer of liquid film on the substrate's surface, then decontaminated with laser radiation.
3. Laser + inert gas method, that is, in the laser radiation at the same time, inert gas blowing to the surface of the substrate, when the dirt from the surface of the stripped immediately after the gas will be blown away from the surface, to avoid the surface of the re-contamination and oxidation;.
4. use a laser to make the dirt loose, and then use non-corrosive chemical cleaning methods.
The most commonly used is the first 3 methods. The fourth method is only seen in the cleaning of stone cultural relics. Internationally, the application of laser cleaning technology on stone materials has a history of more than ten years. In China, the stone material laser cleaning started late. Due to the investment of laser equipment is still relatively expensive, generalized application still needs to be made easier. But the laser cleaning technology has the advantages of traditional cleaning methods that can not be compared, with the continuous improvement of technology and equipment batch production, laser cleaning technology will certainly play an important role in the stone material cleaning industry.
